Socceroo forward James Troisi has re-joined Melbourne Victory on a one-year deal in a major boost for the A-League powerhouse.

The fan favourite won the club's golden boot during Kevin Muscat's first campaign in charge and used that form to earn club contracts in Belgium, Saudi Arabia and China.

Having found himself on the outer at Chinese Super League club Liaoning Whowin, the 28-year-old decided to return to the A-League.
