New Melbourne Victory recruit Mitch Austin says his decision to leave Central Coast is about pushing his limits as a player in the A-League.

Austin, 25, was signed by Victory last month and his first match in navy blue is likely to be a date with Italian mega-club Juventus at the MCG.

"I felt at my age I had to get to one of the bigger clubs to test myself," he told reporters on Friday.
