Melbourne Victory have been handed a slice of fortune as they attempt to qualify for the knockout stages of the Asian Champions League for the first time.

Tuesday night's opponents Gamba Osaka have left 10 first-team players in Japan as they cannot reach the last 16 of the competition.

Melbourne Victory need only to win or match Suwon Bluewings' result to make the knockout rounds.
