Melbourne Victory midfielder, Carl Valeri, has warned Adelaide Utd they will have to be at their very best when the two sides meet tomorrow night.
The former Socceroo told reporters that no team has deserved to beat Victory this season saying they have been guilty of gifting points to their opposition.
Victory have missed a number of opportunities to take control at the top of the A-League thanks to some shonky defensive play that has seen them concede seven in their last four games. But Valeri says he is happy with the way the side are playing and their rivals will have to turn on the after burners to stop the deep dark blues from having the perfect end to the season.
“The thing about us is we've been beaten a few times this season, but when we have I feel the other team has never really earned a win against us,” said Mark Milligan’s partner in crime.
"It's just kind of happened, whether it was a last-minute goal or something that, you know, we gave them a win. I think, mentally, when we play against teams it's tough for them as well, knowing it's hard to play Victory off the park and that they've got to be at their best to beat us."
Pundits and fans are expecting a fantastic game of football at Cooper’s Stadium tomorrow night. Adelaide and Victory are seen by many as the most aesthetically pleasing teams in the league. Both play on the front foot, both like to dominate possession and both have coaches that only ever want to win. But at the end of the day we have Besart Berisha leading the line and they have Bruce Djite, enough said.
